Happiness is Handwritten
I saw this quote on Pinterest and it felt so appropriate for the times we are in. Action can take many forms, but it’s so important that we actually do something. Don’t just hit the follow button to diversify your feed, take the time to go back and read what they have been saying for years. I’d really recommend following @allison_sadler_ , @iamkristabel , and @grillodesigns , all fantastic accounts that share their lives whilst providing insight. But don’t just follow, listen to their stories, truly hear what they are saying. Sending you all lots of love this Sunday.
Hooray for the weekend! What are you up today? I’m hoping to get some time to work on new designs, including some new cards. I’d been wanting to launch cards for a while, and played it safe with my first range, using some designs which I knew people definitely liked already. This time, I’d love to design something completely new. In the meantime, you can still shop my existing cards, including a bargain 3 pack for £7 with free UK postage! #stayintouchwithsnailmail #sendmoreletters #indieroller #supportsmallbusiness #andsotoshop #oxfordetsy #greetingscardsofinstagram #handletteringcommunity #handletteringlove #handlettereddesigns
Friday flowers! We’ve made it through another week 💛
This room is the space where I do my best thinking, and yesterday evening I discussed with my husband the actions we can take as a family to address and fight against racism. We agreed that the first step needed to be to educate ourselves, to read, to listen, to absorb. Next, we need to look at our role as parents, ensure that we are leading by example and that H is provided with a diverse range of toys and books. This isn’t a tick box exercise, or a one time thing, we need to commit to doing this long term. We need to be educated, and then educated some more. We need to challenge where it’s needed, and we need to speak up.
Hello new month! It’s a lovely sunny day but I’m aware that for so many, it’s going to be a tough and emotional one as some of the little ones return to school / daycare. Due to me being a higher risk than most, we’ve decided to keep H home for the time being. It’s been a hard few weeks trying to make the right decision but for now, it’s the best one for our family. Today also means that some of us can finally leave the house after 11 or so weeks. Initial excitement was soon replaced by worry as some have said that it’s too soon and too risky. (Note to self, stop watching the news and don’t go on Twitter) Again, it’s all about making the right decision for you. I’m still not 100% sure that I’ll make it out today, but we’ll see! Sending hugs to anyone who needs it this morning. And if all else fails, eat cake for breakfast...
